Campaign against the Faldingworth explosions nuisance

Hello to all sufferers of the Faldingworth activities!

February 8th, 2008 | Posted by admin

Following the public meeting, a number of us realised that we were not alone and that much could be achieved if we only work together to stop the nuisance which has been plaguing us. This site is the first result of this new spirit of collaboration. Your comments are welcome. Enjoy!

Unfortunately we will be away on the evening of your next meeting.
We support you fully and would be interested to learn if any response has been received from either WLDC or Edward Leigh.
    We live in Spridlington.

This problem can be almost eliminated if Mr Briggs’s reprentatives will listen to me at the Faldingworth meeting on the 28th February at Faldingworth Village Hall. Scientifically. No sense in making yourself a public ogre when the possible solution is so cheap………

I am Clerk to Normanby-by-Spital Parish Council and Skydock is on our agenda for our next meeting (5th March). We suffer from the loud explosions in our village and it was our intention to write to Skydock to ask them to attend our Annual Parish Meeting in May. We are not so much against their work, it is the lack of information. The siren goes off - so - what does that mean? Do they have different sirens for different reasons?
Who does one contact if they are concerned? Our local policeman (Welton) PC Oakes is quite unconcerned about it all and it appears Skydock does inform the police when they are letting off their explosions.
I can not make your meeting of tonight, but I would love to know the outcome.

I have spoken to a council representative this morning after last nights meeting and been given the Health and Safety contact details who they themselves are dealing with. I would like to implore all affected residents to contact them and make grievences known as the magnitude of complaints may force them to take action, contact details are as below:

    Sally Fisher or Phil Smith
    Explosives Directorate
    1-2 Redgrave Court
    Merton Road
    Bootle
    L20 7HS
    TEL: 0151 9514518

the meeting last night “28″{well attended}as far as i can see resolved none of our issues comendations though too west lindsey representatives who answered all questions with as much conviction as they obviously thought we would be satisfied with the replies, however until h.s.e.can be questioned i fear WE!! will all be kept in the dark ref the activities at the unibay/skydock site.
